That's me!

That's me!

My name is Brett Rostykus.

I fell in love with shooting video when I was 17 years old. A man approached me in church one day and handed me $500 and told me that I was to use this money to buy a video camera. I told him I had no idea how to use one or what to even look for in a video camera, but he insisted I take the money because it was what him and his wife were called to do. I accepted their gift and purchased my first camera, a Canon HV20. I used it to film videos for my church's youth group and fell in love with telling stories. After graduating high school, I immediately went to college not truly knowing what I wanted to do with my life. I had some ideas, but I wasn't really passionate about any of them. It wasn't until I met my wife(that's her on the left) that my life changed for the better. She told me I was given these abilities to shoot video for a reason and I would regret not using them. So, that is exactly what I chose to do.

I had been saving my money for about three years and decided to spend every penny I had on professional equipment. I was then asked one day to film a wedding. After it was over and the edit was complete, I knew it was what I wanted to do for the rest of my life. There is just something so incredible about a wedding day. I will always remember mine as the day I told my lady that I wanted to spend the rest of my life with her. I want you to be able to remember the laughter, the sounds, the vows, the speeches, how great you looked as you walked down the isle, the happiness that spreads across your groom's face as he sees you for the very first time. There are so many memories and it all happens so fast that wouldn't it be nice to go back and watch it all over again?

I'm here to help. I don't know anyone who loves shooting weddings more than me. I would actually be willing to place a sizable bet on that. What this means for you is that you will be hiring someone who loves what they do and that same passion is what is going into every single frame that I shoot. My goal is ensure that you have the greatest day imaginable and that you can watch it over and over again forever.
